Think Piece-Week 4

I think the most interesting thing was that it made me think I the difference between ads on television and online. I think I try to not care about online advertisement more than television. The advertisements I view, if not television, are usually video online, but I do not like advertisements.

Think Piece-Week 3

I think I was found out most was that I did not know a lot about advertising when it comes to online. I did not know any of the companies they talked about. I feel partially like I should know them, but partially that it is not bad because in 1994 I was 2 or 3. I knew that advertising was used a lot, however. One type they talked about was going to the ad, "clicking," and I heard about that my freshman year in college.

Think Piece-Week 2

I think the most interesting thing after reading the articles was that I did not know DoubleClick was around. It makes sense, but I did not know about it, which may be because when it was a part of Google I did not know about advertisements like the articles talked about. I knew about advertisements, but not what the article said. I want to know if Yahoo has done something like Google did after Google. The other thing that was interesting was that the author of the other article wrote like Yahoo was now not used as much. I think Yahoo is used, but Google is definitely used more. Although, on my iPod, Yahoo is where you are able to go if you go on the weather app. The safari app does have something for Google, though. I also thought of that I have only seen three or so people with an email address that says ymail, but there are many that say gmail. There are times that I forget that gmail is in Google. I think the author is right in some ways that Yahoo is not used as much, but I think that it is still used.

Media Diary-Day 7

I looked at my Facebook and email when I got up. I went to where I work and looked at Facebook and watched three television episodes. When I did this, I was done with the work, but I did not have to work today because it in a job on the school.

I knew this before, but I look at my email and Facebook every day when wake up. I also look at one or two email addresses everyday because they are on my iPod, but if I did not have it I would only look at one email address every day.

Media Diary-Day 4

I went to the studio and went on me email and Facebook because my iPod battery was dead. I later charged my iPod for 10 to 15 minutes and checked my email. One of the reasons was because I had a text that told me about a possible email. I read part of an article and sent it to a nurse via Facebook because it had to do with someone I was told about by her.

Media Diary-Day 2

Today I went on Facebook and email again when I got up. I also went on Facebook briefly while at a school morning show to see if a girl was online, but she was there before my Facebook was on, and I shut it off the minute I was able to. I went on Facebook between classes because I wrote a question to a friend. I emailed someone about something I did for work. I went on Facebook after my event, the something I did for work.

Media Diary-Day 1

Earlier today I went on my iPod, which is something I do almost every day when I get up. I played some games, went on Facebook, and checked email. I went to work and went on Facebook, Playlist and Pandora. I also looked up some thing for work. Later, I also watched some television.

Think Piece-Week 1

I think the most interesting thing I read was “The Difference Between the Internet and World Wide Web.” I did not know that they were different. I was slightly confused at first, but I know the difference now, although it is hard for me to give examples, except ones that were in the article. It does make me want to find out if there are many other things like the World Wide Web. I think that there is, but I do not know. I think it is odd that I only knew half a week ago, since I read the article on Thursday, that they are different. I took a class in middle school about the internet, and maybe since I was in middle school they did not tell us, but I think they should have.

The other thing I found interesting was that I did not think the Atlantic Cable would be made be the 1940’s. When I read it was from 1857 to 1858, I was shocked. I wonder if there are still a lot of wires, or if most things are done by satellites. I want to know if in the future the wires will not be used at all. I also want to know where all of the wires are.
